About Trim Tax
Tax help should be clear, fair and complete
Too many people pay for a tax return and receive a form — no planning, no explanation, and no one to call when a CRA letter arrives. Others fall behind and are met with judgment, high-pressure sales tactics or an accountant who stops returning calls. Trim Tax was founded to do it differently: professional, plain-spoken accounting with honest pricing, delivered by people who take responsibility for the whole picture.
Our name is our promise. We trim what doesn't belong — overpaid tax, missed credits, penalties that could have been avoided, paperwork that never needed to pile up — and we leave you with clean books, accurate returns and a plan for next year.
Who we are
Trim Tax is led by Chartered Professional Accountants with more than fifteen years of experience in Canadian personal and corporate taxation, tax planning, CRA audit representation, bookkeeping, financial statements, business advisory and business structuring.
Our team of CPAs, bookkeepers and payroll specialists works from our Vaughan office in the Greater Toronto Area, supported by secure cloud systems that let us serve clients in every province and territory.
We work with individuals and families, self-employed professionals, incorporated businesses from startups to established owner-managed companies, landlords and real estate investors, newcomers and non-residents, and charities and non-profit organizations.
What we believe
Pay only what you legally owe.
Good tax planning is not aggressive; it is thorough. We claim everything the rules allow and nothing they don't.

Fix the cause.
A balance owing is usually a symptom of missing or incorrect filings. We correct those first, because that is what lasts.

No surprises.
Fees are fixed and quoted in writing. Timelines are stated and met. If something changes, we tell you before it affects your invoice.

Say the hard thing.
If a claim will not hold up, if an SR&ED project will not qualify, or if a lawyer or licensed insolvency trustee is the better route, we tell you plainly.

Respect.
People fall behind for every reason imaginable. We help them catch up without lectures.

How we work
Every engagement starts with a free consultation and a written, fixed-fee quote. Every return and financial statement is prepared by one professional and reviewed by a second before anything is filed. Every client receives a plain-language summary of what was filed and why, and a calendar of the deadlines that matter to them. And every client can reach a real person year-round — not just between February and April.
